This Privacy Policy describes how Nils Lahaye (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with Gustnote (the “App”) and the website at gustnote.nilon.me (the “Site”).
Summary
Gustnote is built around privacy. Your notes stay on your devices and in your own iCloud account. We do not operate servers that store your note content, and we do not use analytics or advertising trackers in the App or on the Site.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, access, or store:
- The text, attachments, or other content of your notes
- A Gustnote account or profile (the App does not require one)
- Analytics, usage telemetry, or advertising identifiers through our own systems
How the App handles your data
Gustnote stores notes locally on your Mac, iPhone, or iPad. When you use iCloud sync, your notes are synchronized through Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit services under your Apple ID. That data is encrypted and managed by Apple according to their policies, not on servers we operate.
We cannot read your synced notes. Access to iCloud data is handled entirely by Apple’s platform and your device settings.
The App may request permissions needed for its features (for example, to save attachments or use system integrations you enable). You can review and change these permissions in your device’s Settings app at any time.
Third-party services (App)
Gustnote relies on Apple frameworks and services, including iCloud and CloudKit, to provide sync and core platform functionality. We do not embed third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs in the App.
Gustnote is a paid app sold through the App Store as a one-time purchase (not a subscription). Payment, billing, and download are processed entirely by Apple. We do not receive or store your payment card details. Apple may collect information related to your purchase and account under its own privacy policy.
Website
The Site is a static marketing page. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers on the Site.
The Site may load fonts from Google Fonts. When your browser requests those resources, Google may receive technical information such as your IP address. See Google’s privacy policy for details.
The Site includes links to external services (for example, Buy Me a Coffee). Those services are operated by third parties and are governed by their own privacy policies.
Children’s privacy
Gustnote is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete data we hold about you. Because we do not collect note content or operate Gustnote accounts, most of your data is stored locally on your devices or in your iCloud account, where you can manage or delete it directly.
Residents of certain regions (including the European Union and California) may have additional rights under applicable law. To exercise any rights related to information we might hold, contact us using the details below.
Data retention
We do not retain your note content on our systems. If you contact us by email, we retain that correspondence only as long as needed to respond and address your request.
International users
Gustnote is developed in Canada. If you use the App or Site from outside Canada, your information may be processed in Canada or in the countries where Apple and other third-party services operate.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App or Site after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
